The Monal Foundation has been actively involved in relief activities for flood affected and displaced persons in rural districts of Pakistan during the unprecedented flooding in August 2022. 

In the first phase of this operation, emergency assistance was provided in 6 worst affected districts in the form of 3,840 family-sized ration bags, 750 tents for 6-8 persons, basic first aid and medicines along with 6,000 mosquito repellant coils within the first 10 days of the calamity. The entire operation including packing the aid items, logistics and on-ground distribution were carried out by Monal staff and volunteers. 

In next phase, two Tent Cities were established in districts Rajanpur and Rujhaan through collaboration with Pakistan Air Force and the Rizq Trust, where approx. 3,500 persons were provided with rain-proof family-sized tents, 3 cooked meals per day, clean drinking water and basic first-aid. 

Monal Foundation established fully functional and staffed kitchens on-site at the Tent Cities for cooking and distributing the daily meals. Doctors and staff of Yaqoomia Trust Hospital were also mobilized to set-up Medical Camps in the Tent Cities where the inhabitants were treated for various illnesses and ailments through free check-ups and provision of medicines. Mobile medical camps using the Yaqoomia Trust Hospital ambulance were utilized to provide medical assistance to persons residing in nearby villages in the vicinity of the Tent Cities. 

World Central Kitchen (WCK), a US-based NGO collaborated on-ground with the Monal Foundation and Rizq Trust by sending their staff members to provide nutritious meals, fresh fruit and clean drinking water to the Tent City inhabitants. 

In the current and on-going phase which started in November 2022, Monal Foundation in association with Rizq Trust are engaged with a Canadian NGO called Global Medic on-ground in critical districts in Sindh province with the objective of ensuring food security by providing 4-6 month stockpile of essential staples like wheat/rice and lentils per family, providing clean and safe drinking water by installing cost-effective permanent water filtration units and conducting fund-raising which will be utilized for eventual replenishment of livestock for up to 150 families.
